Fire Chief

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, Mitchell Dinowitz was elected as Fire Chief of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department (SSVFD) for a two year period from June 12, 2019 through June 2021. Prior to that, Chief Dinowitz  served as Acting Fire Chief from May 15, 2019 to June 12, 2019 after his predecessor, Chief Kelley, resigned before the end of his term to take a paid position with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS). Prior to serving as Acting Fire Chief, Chief Dinowitz was Deputy Fire Chief at SSVFD.
