Calvin E. Musgrove, a resident of Northern Silver Spring, MD died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the age of 88. Calvin was the dearly beloved husband for 69 years to his wife Alice Edwards Musgrove. Beloved father of Rodney and Marlies Musgrove and Debbie and Steve Cullen, both of Silver Spring, MD, and Mike and Shirley Musgrove of Woodbine, MD. Son of the late Howard and Josephine Musgrove of Brookeville, MD. Brother of the late Howard Jr. of Rockville, MD. Calvin leaves 9 grandchildren; Jennifer, Stephanie, Chris and wife Tina, Brian and wife Christina, Steven Musgrove, Christy Willie and husband Spencer, Robert Rivers, Jen Cullen, Brett and wife Rebecca Cullen, and 9 great-grandchildren; Sean, Molly, Nicholas and newborn Alice Musgrove, Taylor, Lindsey and Jillian Willie, and Ella and Thomas Cullen. Calvin served in the Navy during World War II. He was an electrician by trade and worked for Olney Electric and then for Bethesda Naval Hospital until he retired in 1982. He spent his retirement years repairing lawnmowers with his cousin, the late late Harry Musgrove, Jr. of Sunshine, MD. He was a member of the American Legion Post 68 since 1950 and Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department since 1951. Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 10:30am to 12pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where funeral services will be held at 12pm. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, MD.
