In Memoriam… Life Member, President Emeritus Thomas C. Rhodes
It is with great sadness, the officer’s and members of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department announce the untimely passing of Life-Member, and President Emeritus Thomas C. Rhodes on the evening of Sept. 1, 2014.
“Proud of Our Past… Focused on The Future” this is the motto President Rhodes set when he took office and began to lead the department through many changes and improvements. Tom served as the department’s president from 1992 through 2002. His accomplishments during his tenure are far too great to list at this time. However, most notable is his tireless work in the design and construction of Fire Station-4 which stands in his name.
As Sandy Spring commemorates it’s 90th anniversary, Tom will be greatly missed. However, his legacy will continue as we continue to focus on our future.
