MCVFRA Fire Prevention Ambassadors Selected on Sunday, October 28, 2018

The Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA) Fire Prevention Ambassadors were selected on Sunday, October 28, 2018 after participating in a series of interviews. Among the interviewers was Marcia Roth, the President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association, who is a member of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department. Chosen this year as Miss Fire Prevention was Emily Moyer from the Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department. The 1st Runner Up as Miss Fire Prevention was Cari McHenry from the Germantown Volunteer Fire Department. Selected as Little Miss Fire Prevention was Savanah Locke from the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad. Many of these young people began their volunteer service to their community at a young age, sometimes following in the footsteps of family or friends, which hopefully leads to a lifelong love for and commitment to the fire and rescue services of their communities.
